While many of my family photo-shoots are multi-generational, in the summer of 2018 I photographed a lot of single families. The advantage is that it’s a much slower and more thoughtful experience – and you get to spend much more time concentrating on a couple of children, instead of chasing a gang of cousins around a garden hoping to nail a spontaneous portrait!
The McManus family commissioned me while they were on holiday in Mawgan Porth in north Cornwall. Under bright blue skies we raced across the beach, explored the caves, splashed in pools and ran into the sea.
