Fowey Hall Hotel is one of my regulars, my local, for weddings and family photo-shoots. The whole place is set up for families with loads of activities for the kids, huge private gardens and a warm & welcoming interior. It’s the perfect place to escape to if – like at this shoot – you’re two families with kids of a similar age and want to escape for a week.
For me it’s a challenge to make sure I photograph each child equally, but also capture something of their personality – and ideally those hard-to-get relationship shots where they’re interacting naturally with someone else. It’s also a case of being fast – capturing those dynamic moments like all four children jumping in the air on the trampoline…before they rush off to the next activity and the process is repeated all over again…
