There are some family photography shoots that just have it all. Great location. Great family dynamic. Great light. This was one of those.
The Pearsalls asked me to photograph a rare coming-together of their three generations in the enchanting & secluded Hybadore Coach House near Fowey on the south coast of Cornwall.
Normally I suggest mornings for family portraiture – while everyone is fresh, clean and the family arguments haven’t yet kicked in. So this was unusual for me to shoot in the late afternoon – but the reward was, of course, that lovely golden late summer sun. It was the zenith of 2018’s summer, racing around that hazy apple orchard in wheelbarrows.
