The Helford river is a long way away from anything in Cornwall – even for me. It’s one of those remote, tucked-away spots that’s just that extra distance too far to go…for many.
Which is what makes it special. It feels like a piece of old Cornwall. It’s a beautifully unspoilt area. If you love your sailing, then I imagine on a summer’s day with a fresh breeze it must be close to heaven.
The Wyld family asked me to photograph a rare gathering of their three generations. So I ran around their garden shooting every combination of people possible. Normally I don’t bother to show many group photos but theirs had so much fun & spontaneity that I had to include them in this gallery – as well as some of my favourite reportage images too.
