Brief: To photograph all aspects of a Girlguiding weekend festival including PR images for the Army

In 2018 I was commissioned to direct photography for Girlguiding UK. This initially involved editing a 25,000 image archive down to 1,000 images, identifying image shortfalls, writing the charity’s photographic style guidelines and finally shooting a number events.
This was one of those events, where I was commissioned to cover all aspects of an annual weekend festival and also to mentor a young photographer. The major limitation was that there were only specific Girlguiding units we had permission to photograph – not easy to when you’re faced with thousands of girls in a muddy field!
