I wish I’d known about Pickwell Manor when I got married. It’s completely private – at the end of a long drive. The guys who run it are absolutely lovely, you can get married outside under a rose arbour, and best of all it’s perched high on a north Devon cliff above a great surf beach.
Even while I was shooting Danielle & Nick’s day I had to physically concentrate on not watching the lines of surf rolling in from the horizon. Luckily Nick’s a surfer, so I started the day photographing him catching some wedding day waves. Appropriately we ended the day walking out (in wellies, of course) to the field overlooking the same beach for some dusk shots…with the waves still rolling in.
